The CEDAR ADA A/D and D/A Converter is a stereo, 24-bit, 96kHz 1U rackmount unit that produces an AES/EBU or SPDIF output from a balanced or unbalanced analogue stereo input, and a stereo balanced or unbalanced output from an incoming AES/EBU or SPDIF input. Designed to complement CEDAR’s award-winning DNS-series and Duo-series hardware modules as well as CEDAR Cambridge, the ADA offers four sync modes, professional and consumer formats, emphasis on/off, user-selectable input levels of up to 27dBu, and a maximum output level of +24dBu. With both professional (XLR) and consumer (phono) analogue inputs and outputs, the ADA is usable in almost all analogue and digital environments. Offering a dynamic range of greater than 110dB, and a signal to noise ratio of better than 109dBfs, the CEDAR ADA is suitable for all but the very most demanding converter tasks. And, at its attractive price, it offers an excellent price/performance ratio.
