The CEDAR DNS One has been selected as one of the "Gear Picks" of 2010 by Audio Media magazine. In their June 2010 issue they repeated from Mike Aiton's original review... "I for one will be rushing out and buying this plug-in the day it comes out. It is hard to imagine a production these days where one will not need this tool." - Mike Aiton, Audio Media, March 2010 ... and then added an Editor's Comment: "When will they make it a plug-in? When will they make it a plug-in? When will they make it a plug-in? Oh... they did. It's a good day for no compromise noise reduction."

The DNS One now plays an integral part in the high-pressure, fast-turnaround production of soap operas in Germany. Sebastian Penno of Music Audio Recording Concepts (MARC) in Köln has this to say of CEDAR's latest product:
"We have to deal with the problems of general noise and background noise on daily series and soap operas, and with tight schedules and unfavourable production conditions it is even more important. Therefore, more than ever before, we need the right tools to suppress the noise. After a demonstration and tests of CEDAR's DNS One it quickly became clear that it was the right tool for the job. The combination of realtime processing, zero latency and no artefacts is something that no other plug-in can offer, and the results are beyond comparison; I have never worked with such an effective and good-sounding noise suppressor. Most importantly, it reliably removes the everpresent sources of interference such as lamps and electrical appliances. Although the cost is not high, the time gained is priceless, and when you're looking at what it can achieve, you're only limited by your own imagination."

Music Audio Recording Concepts works in the fields of music, radio and TV. Recent TV series produced at MARC, including Der Trödeltrupp, Job im Paradies, and Mitten im Leben, have been broadcast on RTL, ZDF, NDR and ProSieben.

Sonifex Promotes First Video Redbox At CABSAT 2009 Sonifex RB-VHDA8 3G/HD/SD-SDI distribution amplifier. Sonifex are using their fourth appearance at CABSAT to show on stand Z-7 a host of new products, including their first purely video product. Known primarily as an audio manufacturer, the RB-VHDA8 is the first broadcast video product developed by Sonifex. Managing Director Marcus Brooke commented:  "The products that we're developing at the moment are audio for TV products and we're also 'dipping a toe' into the market for video products. We get a lot of compliments from customers about the Redbox range of audio interfaces and have had a number of requests for video equivalents." The Redbox RB-VHDA8 is a one input, eight output high performance 3G/HD/SD-SDI distribution amplifier for re-clocking and distributing a 3G, HD-SDI or SD-SDI source to eight outputs. The unit provides automatic input detection, re-clocking and cable equalisation of the input signal to 200/400 meters (HD/SD) of coax cable. The full range of SD, HD and 3G standards are supported by the unit, allowing NTSC and PAL composite digital signals right up to component digital signals at 1080p 60Hz. The rear panel has a single female BNC connector for the 3G/HD/SD-SDi input and a further eight female BNC connectors for the outputs. Each output is buffered providing driven outputs for greater reliability. As well as an AC power input on a filtered IEC, the unit also has an adjacent 12V DC input on a 2.5mm co-axial connector, for use, for example, in outside broadcast vehicles. Both power inputs can be used to give a dual redundant power supply; whichever voltage is higher will be used. The RB-VHDA8 is shipping now from Sonifex distributors.
