APEX is built on CEDAR’s pioneering Emmy® winning technology and gives engineers precise control over their audio, enabling them to increase the apparent loudness whilst preserving transparency, soundstage and depth.

Conventional limiters control the loudness of signals by suppressing peak amplitudes when they would otherwise exceed user-defined thresholds. Unlike these, CEDAR’s Adaptive Limiters use a unique adaptive algorithm that calculates continuingly varying EQ profiles for each audio channel. These constrain the amplitude of the output while retaining the integrity of the input signal.

• Temporal LF / HF Controls determine the rate at which the profile is permitted to change at low and high frequencies.
• Link Control gives engineers control of the audio soundstage, providing everything from independent channel limiting to perfectly linked gain reduction.
