Ring Modulators

DACS Bring It On Analog Ring Modulator

The DACS Bring It On is a high-fidelity ring modulator optimized for an exceptionally smooth response and extremely low carrier breakthrough. It is a direct adaptation of DACS classic 2U Freque hardware processor. Breakthrough is negligible (<-65dB) so you really get the ring Modulated result, not a mix of modulated signal and Mod (carrier) coming through.

The DACS Bring It On is the best analogue ring mod out there. But not just a Ring Mod. Mix two modulating sources, add/subtract weight and edge to your sound with our unique low and high boost/cut shelving filters.

Features:

  • Two Modulation inputs fully mixable, DC coupled for subsonic CVs as well as audio signals
  • The unique switchable Weight and Edge Control a shelving EQ that boosts/cuts high and low frequency content
  • Hand calibrated with four multi turn trimmers giving better than 65B rejection of the Mod input (This means it does all the things a ring mod should do without that annoying breakthrough: feed the same signal to both Mod and Mus and get pure octave transposition; gating and pulsing with a low frequency Mod input)
  • The pots are Omeg Eco pots, famed for their smoothness and longevity
  • Music input flat down to <5Hz
  • Fitted with DACS custom metal knobs
  • Bring it On sounds, looks and feels the best ring mod out there

Knobs & Switches:

  • Weight/Edge Switch: Engagement toggle for integrated low and high shelving EQs.
  • Weight Knob: A specialized tonal modifier that adjusts the low frequency content of the Music input signal, allowing you to add chunkier sub-harmonics.
  • Edge Knob: A high-frequency character modifier. Toggling this alters the sharpness and harmonic bite of the generated sidebands, moving between smooth, warm textures and aggressive, cutting tones.
  • Mod 1 & Mod 2: Input attenuators that let you mix two different signals together before they hit the ring modulator’s carrier circuit.

I/O Ports:

  • Mod In 1 & Mod In 2: Allows you to feed an external audio source (like a secondary VCO, LFO) to act as the mathematical multiplier for the ring modulation.
  • Mus In: Accepts the primary audio source you want to process.
  • Audio Out: Outputs the combined sum-and-difference sideband frequencies, leaving the raw carrier signal entirely filtered out.
